Local Offer to our young people
Our Local Offer keeps you up to date with what advice and help is available as you move towards adulthood.
It covers topics such as what support is available, accommodation options and financial help.
The Local Offer is for you if you have been a child in care in North Tyneside for 13 weeks after the age of 14 and some time on or after your 16th birthday. If this is you, you are considered a Former Relevant young person after 18 and this offer is for you.
If you weren’t in care for that time but were in care when you were 16 or 17, you can still receive advice and guidance and there may be some practical support available. You are then considered as a Qualifying young person and should speak to the Leaving Care Team if you have any questions.
We know that it is a big step when you are preparing to leave care. We will continue to support and care for you and want you to be aware of our commitments to you, for you to feel safe and supported and know where and who to go to for advice, support and help.
